In Honor of the Dedication and Service of the Late Dr. Deborah Lynn Hoyle, Join Us This Wednesday 7/12
Dr. Deborah L. Hoyle was a fierce advocate for our communities, dedicated to education and empowering the people of Far Rockaway. In honor of her years of dedication and service, please join us this Wednesday, July 12, at 11:30 AM for her Street Naming Ceremony. The ceremony will be held at the Child Center of NY Ocean Bay Community Cornerstone, 57-10 Beach Channel Dr., Arverne, NY 11692.
We look forward to seeing you there and we thank you for your attendance as we honor a beloved member of our community.
Biography
Dr. Deborah L. Hoyle was a pillar for the Far Rockaway community, and her loss is felt throughout the peninsula. She was a mother, minister, educator, author/publisher, and made it a point to acknowledge that amongst all these titles, the most heartwarming of all would be her title as “somebody’s Grand Nana.” She was the Director of the Oceanbay Community Center in the Rockaways and an adjunct professor at both York College and Queens College. She placed education at the forefront of every journey she embarked upon, citing education as the key to success. For over 30 years she served her community with love and devotion, educating and empowering each soul she came across. She loved gardening, and oversaw a hydroponics garden in the Community Center that students could admire and sustain on their own. She was a woman of God, and believed that God leads the way, encouraging others to engage with their own beliefs. She is greatly missed.
