Arverne East - Upcoming Edgemere Avenue roadway work

For your reference, below is an update on the upcoming Edgemere Avenue roadway work:

• PSEG plans to start the relocation of the telephone phone lines between B 32nd and B 38th beginning on Sunday 6/18. This work is expected to take 4 weeks. We do not expect that this will affect pedestrian and vehicular traffic. PSEG may need to shutdown sidewalks in locations if working in close proximity. This will be on a location by location basis.

• Local test pits in the roadway will be completed between B 35th and B 32nd the week of June 19th. The work will occur sporadically throughout the week and there will be a partial lane closure necessary to complete this work. Flaggers will be onsite to direct pedestrians and vehicles as needed.

• Signage is being installed for the upcoming road closure of Edgemere Avenue between B 38th and B 32nd. From Beach 32nd, westbound traffic will be diverted to Seagirt. Eastbound traffic will be diverted at Beach 41st North to Rockaway Beach Blvd. The detour signs will be covered until the date of shutdown. We expect that the road closure will be in effect shortly after the July 4th holiday and will remain closed for 18 months.
