Update: 1.5ft to 2.5ft of inundation above ground level are expected with high tide 9:00 PM Wednesday night into 3:00 AM Thursday morning near Jamaica Bay in Southern Queens. This will result in road closures and widespread flooding of vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline, including parking lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements near the waterfront. Vehicles parked in vulnerable areas near the waterfront will likely become flooded.

Heavy rain during or just before time of high tide will likely exacerbate street flooding in low lying and coastal communities around the time of high tide.

Preparedness Actions:

- If you live in a basement, prepare now to move to a higher floor if flooding occurs.

- Avoid driving through or coming in contact with flood waters. Prepare early to move your car to higher ground if your area is prone to flooding.

-Please call 311 if you encounter flooding that makes roads impassable, causes property damage, or persists for more than 48 hours.
